Female Cat

A question from our visitor :

About a week ago we brought home a 9wk old male kitten. Our older female cat had some issues with him and started staying to herself. Which we expected that from her until she got use to the new baby. The new kitten and our older started playing a bit for a few days but she was still standoffish. The new baby is up to date on shots and everything, we just took him to the vet the other day. Well I noticed tonight that my older cat was salivating excessively and was growling at anyone who picked her up and mostly when the new baby came around in her sight. I tried looking this up online and I am not getting any help and trying to find a solution to help her out, she is our baby. Help!!
